Bruce Rock High School True Blue Dreaming Mentor Program wins $16,500 in Federal Funding
October 12, 2017
Member for Durack Melissa Price has today announced a grant for $16,500 for the Bruce rock parents and Citizens Association has been approved by the Federal Government.
“I am incredibly pleased to see this money contributed, as the money will towards a review of the Blue Dreaming program at the Bruce Rock High School, which I believe is a fantastic program.
“The Blue Dreaming program is a federally funded program run in rural and remote communities across Australia, and has been active in the Wheatbelt since 2004.
“The program aims to support and strengthen young lives in these communities through mentoring programs, and this funding will go towards accessing the effectiveness of this program’s impact.
“I am pleased to see this funding come to one of the newest shires in my electorate, and I look forward to helping the town secure more funding in the future. “
The Research report will provide a qualitative evaluation of the True Blue Dreaming program in Bruce Rock high school.
This will then allow for a review of the mentoring program against international mentoring programs and provides the potential to identify other regional high schools to ascertain transferability of the mentor model to improving regional outcomes.
