Trayning aquatic centre upgrade with Building Better Regions funding
July 19, 2018
The Shire of Trayning is set to benefit from a grant of more than $363,000 following the announcement that the Trayning Aquatic Centre will receive funding under the Building Better Regions Fund – Infrastructure Projects stream.
Federal Member for Durack Melissa Price said the project to help redevelop the aquatic centre facilities was a significant investment in building a stronger economy and driving jobs for the long term.
“This is a fantastic outcome for the Trayning community, with the project receiving $363,317 to upgrade the facilities,” she said.
Trayning Shire President Melanie Brown said she was very excited.
“The aquatic centre is an integral part of the community; the facilities are enjoyed by adults and children for recreation and fitness; and as a communal meeting place,” she said.
“It is used by many neighbouring towns for school swimming carnivals and interschool competitions; and for swimming lessons.
“It is an asset for the community that will be used for many, many years to come thanks to the Federal Government’s generous support.”
The funding is part of the Federal Government’s $641 million BBRF program.
