Australian Aid: Friendship Grants – Round Two now open
July 22, 2019
Applications for the second round of Australian Aid: Friendship Grants are now open.
Federal Member for Durack Melissa Price said Australian Aid: Friendship Grants are part of the Australian Government’s commitment to strengthening relationships with our partners in the Indo-Pacific.
“In Round 1, established in 2018, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade received more than 200 applications and awarded Friendship Grants to 46 community organisations to support an impressive range of projects delivered by Australians across the region,” Ms Price said.
“These included well drilling to improve water supply in the Solomon Islands, training for early childhood teachers in Timor-Leste, and conducting free eye tests and cataract operations for vulnerable people in Indonesia.”
The three-year $10 million program supports community organisations’ development efforts overseas. Eligible not-for-profit organisations can apply for one-off grants of $30,000 to $60,000.
These activities are strengthening our relationships with overseas partners and delivering real, lasting benefits to communities across the Indo-Pacific.
Applications will close at 1pm (AEST) on 10 September 2019.
