November 14, 2019
The latest $200 million round of the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) will be wholly and soley dedicated to helping the communities hardest hit by drought.
Federal Member for Durack Melissa Price is urging communities in Durack to take advantage of the fund and get local infrastructure and community-building projects of all sizes off the ground.
“I am proud to say that I have ensured Durack communities doing it tough through drought will be eligible for this to support. This round is dedicated to unlocking the economic potential of rural, remote and regional Australia and I encourage all eligible organisations with a project ready to commence, to apply for the fourth round of funding,” Ms
“It will be important that Durack applications carefully follow the guidelines for this round, demonstrating the drought’s impact including Bureau of Meteorology data, local economic statistics and a down turn in local business for example,” Ms Price said.
Applications will be ineligible if the project is not located in a drought-affected location and there is not satisfactory evidence to support your claim.
Funding is available under two streams:
The Infrastructure Projects Stream is for investment ready projects involving the construction of new, or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure.
The Community Investments Stream is for projects involving community activities including, new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, or leadership and capability strengthening activities.
