Price strengthens Durack through National Stronger Regions Fund
January 27, 2016
Member for Durack Melissa Price is continuing to deliver infrastructure in Durack, encouraging not-for-profit organisations and councils to apply for Round 3 of the National Stronger Regions Fund (NSRF).
Ms Price, who delivered several important projects under Round 2 of NSRF including the Karratha Arts & Community Precinct Project and the restoration of the Victoria Hotel, strongly urged eligible parties to apply.
“NSRF strengthens our great communities in Durack, creating jobs in Durack and delivers economic growth,” Ms Price said.
“Funding between $20,000 and $10 million for capital infrastructure projects is available, with applications must be submitted by Tuesday March 15 5pm WST.
“I strongly urge you to avoid waiting until the last minute, as high volumes of users can slow the system which may make it difficult for you to complete the submission, so get in early!”
Grant funding must be matched in cash on at least a dollar for dollar basis and all partner funding must be confirmed.
For Round 3, applicants classified as remote and very remote only have to contribute one dollar for every three dollars funded by NSRF.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to grow your town,” Ms Price said.
“To ensure the best possible outcome for your application, please ensure your submission has sufficient focus on the following:
economic benefit of the project beyond the period of construction
of the region’s comparative disadvantages
the leveraged funds are confirmed
“I also encourage you to seek the support of your local Regional Development Australia office.”
