Disability payment reminder
March 8, 2017
Thousands of Australians with intellectual impairments are eligible for one-off payments of $100 under a Federal Government payment scheme.
The Business Services Wage Assessment Tool Payment scheme will deliver the payments to about 10,000 supported employees of Australian Disability Enterprises, who had their wage calculated using the tool sometime between 2004 and 2014.
With registration closing on April 30, Member for Durack Melissa Price encouraged those eligible to apply.
"ADEs allow people with disability an opportunity for social interaction and to contribute to their local community through work, and will continue to play an important role in the lives of people disability into the future," Ms Price said.
An application form has been sent to people who may be eligible for the scheme from the Department of Social Services. The department will automatically register a person for the scheme and process their application for a payment if the form is completed and returned by the closing date.
