Grant to deliver storage shed for oval

Kununurra sporting clubs have kicked, batted and teed off to a great start this year after one club was granted thousands of dollars for a shared facility.
The East Kimberley Cricket Association is one happy club after receiving $40,502 under the Federal Government's Round Two Community Sport Infrastructure Grants program.
East Kimberley Cricket Association treasure Matt Fletcher said the club was very appreciative of the funding, which would go towards a storage shed at Town Oval.
"This sort of grant is massive," he said.
"It has given us a kickstart to go ahead and get started on the project of constructing a shed for multi-sports in Kununurra.
We have been out and measured up the site.
"There are a lot of vested interests in this storage shed including parents, kids and club members."
Federal Member for Durack and Minister for the Environment Melissa Price said she was delighted to see the Kununurra club be successful under this round of funding.
"Clubs like this play a big part in the community, drawing people together and creating strong social and health benefits, and I'm delighted to see how this grant will help towards the construction of a multi-sport storage shed for the local community," she said.
"I'm proud of the Federal Government's investment in grassroots sports - the program was heavily oversubscribed and the quality of the applications was excellent."
The Durack electorate was successful in securing a total of $295,947 for seven clubs and associations.
